A Jaeger-Le-Coultre Atmos clock, the signed dial with Roman hours, in a gilt brass and glazed case, with visible escapement and circular rotating pendulum, numbered 0259, inscribed 'Presented by Senate to Sir Samuel Curran, June 20th 1980', 24cm high, in original red fitted case. Sir Samuel Crowe Curran FRS, FRSE, (1912-1998) a renowned physicist and inventor, was the first Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde
